3-Week Theatre Directing Course
PROGRAM OUTLINE
This Three-Week Workshop provides students with a thorough introduction to the foundations of theatre directing. Many students find the three-week length fits conveniently into their yearly schedules. Students who find the training beneficial are encouraged to join the second half - Six-Week Theatre Directing Workshop, intensifying their studies and gaining more experience in the movement direction. Many of our Three-Week students have gone on to enroll in our popular 18-month Theatre Directing Diploma Course.
The workshop is designed as a lab with practical sessions, independent tasks, lectures and discussion forums. Directors participate in all sessions together with other participants and work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural context. The program is highly practical, developing from simple to compound. Students will assist the performance production at the professional theatre organization, observe, analyze, document the work of the director during the rehearsals, receive creative directing tasks and have discussions with the theatre director and course instructors.
The Three-week workshop is designed to serve the needs of a variety of students, yet through hands-on classes and exercises, all students gain an understanding of the requirements and rigors of directing and performance making.
Before the workshop starts, students may receive a series of distant tasks.
Please, note, that group is formed on a competitive basis.
