GAME OF VISUAL PERCEPTION: PICTURIZATION
1. Analyze photos 13 through 24 in terms of the elements of picturization at work in each caught moment. Comment on specific ways gesture informs the bodies of the actors to make each composition come alive in terms of evocative, detailed storytelling.
2. For photos 14 through 24 answer the following questions which have to do with the basic composition underlying each picturization:
a. Who has the center of attention?
b. Do you see the added strength of eye-focus?
c. What function do the characters in the background provide?
d. What are the functions of the pieces of furniture?
e. Can you see triangulation?
3. What is the psychological drama (story) being played out in each photograph?
a. What elements of picturization are evident in each photo and how are those elements used to create the dramatic moment?
b. In each photo how has group intensification been brought about by which elements of picturization?
c. Why is each photograph effective as a picture?
