The Director and Design
The importance of visual effects in performances influenced modern professional theatre directors to pay more attention to design as a tool for creating an atmosphere and style of the performance.
This course mostly focused on practical tasks for directors to better understand the basics of composition, scene montage, atmosphere creation through the use of a particular design concept. The practice goes in hand with some theories, textual analysis, and recommended readings. Emphasis is placed on general play analysis, as well as the investigation of design principles from a director's perspective.
