This Theatre Directing Online Diploma Course is developed to give you a professional and specialist education fully online,

We emphasize only on the needs of directors: what one should know, do and know how to do in order to be called a professional. 

This course aims to give students professional specialist education, theory, skills and tools that artistic directors should have to produce contemporary performances. The course equips students with both the practical skills and the theoretical knowledge necessary to be a professional director and create author's performances. 

 

Distant learning offers incredible flexibility with the same qualification as you would receive from the blended learning diploma course at NIPAI, and still emphasizing on a practical investigation of each topic. The core of every program​ in NIPAI is learning by doing, thus every student of Theatre Directing Online Diploma Course shall complete their own Study Project - Graduation Performance as a final exam to receive a Diploma.

The key learning objective of the program focuses on theoretical and practical tasks to help students explore:

  • how to read and analyze a play, how to formulate a plot and super-objective of the performance;

  • what theatre director should know to be prepared for the first meeting with actors;

  • how to lead actors from first meeting to performance;

  • how to work on a concept, design and atmosphere of your performance;

  • what tools should directors have to prepare an actor for the role;

  • how to choose and apply methods of rehearsing and techniques of acting.

Offering impressive learning flexibility, this program is ideal for ambitious professionals who travel for work, cannot attend campus or are looking to balance work and study to apply their learnings in real-time.

All students pursuing a Diploma Course at The New International Performing Arts Institute must be proficient in English and earn a bachelor's degree (at a minimum) or an acceptable equivalent. Applicants must also submit a Creative Portfolio, more details in Entry Requirements.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAM FOCUS

Students who wish to delve deeper into a specific topic can choose to attend an additional practical session from the elective projects that is in line with their interests.

STUDY ASSESSMENTS

We designed a special assessment system for students of NIPAI. It allows students to feel free from conventional examinations. Instead of a common grading system we established a score system. After each completed task the  student receives points, after certain number of collected points, the student moves to the next level and is allowed to proceed to next semester.
This system is specifically designed to avoid subjective assessments by lecturers.
