Inside Week One: International Physical Theatre Intensive in Csurgó, Hungary
Csurgó, Hungary — July 2, 2025

Since June 23, the quiet Hungarian town has become home to an intensive creative residency, as artists from Canada, China, Germany, Japan, India, Latvia, Norway, Serbia, and Slovenia collaborate in a three-week international theatre project. Rehearsals are now underway at the Csokonai Közösségi Ház under the direction of the Ostrenko Brothers, internationally acclaimed theatre-makers known for their visceral, physical approach to ensemble work.
Over the next two weeks, the group will continue shaping a performance that requires no translation: every gesture, every glance, every movement speaks directly to the audience.
The result will be shared in a public performance:
Date: July 12, 2025, 18:00
Venue: Csokonai Közösségi Ház, Széchenyi tér 1, Csurgó, 8840
Free Entry
This is not just an evening of theatre. It is a meeting place of cultures, a shared space of imagination and emotion, where every spectator becomes a co-creator of the moment.
“Three weeks to move, direct, and rediscover.
One week in — and everything is beginning to unfold.”
The showing welcomes families, friends, and neighbors — anyone curious to witness a live, unrepeatable performance born from international collaboration.
Stay curious. You'll need it.
