is the annual international multidisciplinary conference exploring the bridge
between the "traditional" and the "contemporary" in performing arts.
The live event includes two programs - Physical Theatre Lab with theatre directors and teachers Ostrenko Brothers and the program of IUGTE Conference with performing arts academics and professionals from around the world!

Since 2003, "Performing Arts Between Tradition and Contemporaneity"
is the annual international multidisciplinary conference exploring the bridge
between the "traditional" and the "contemporary" in performing arts.
The Physical Theatre Lab program is focused on the Ostrenko brothers approach of performers’ training, relying on the Russian Theatre Tradition, as well as the newest experiments in performing arts. Performer's physicality in the methods of K.Stanislavsky, M.Chekhov, Vs.Meyerhold's Biomechanics, Tai-chi for performers, improvisation, movement directing and teaching.
These are some of the elements uniquely transformed and combined in Ostrenko's teaching system to suit the needs of contemporary performers, directors, and teachers.
Participants will practically explore the performer's physicality as the principal creative instrument, the key to form and style an atmosphere and emotional palette in contemporary performance, stepping beyond the limits of normative text-based acting.
IUGTE CONFERENCE PROGRAM
The program includes practical workshops and seminars, performances and works-in-progress, photo and video presentations, interactive lectures, research papers, discussions and more events.
The Schedule is designed in a way that Lab participants can take part in all events of the IUGTE Conference program too!

The official arrival day for the group is July 20 from 13:00. The first group meeting is at 17:00.

July 20:
From 13:00 - Group arrival and check-in.
16:40-17:00 - Coordinator meets the group. Short tour around the Castle.
17:00-18:00 - First group meeting and introduction.
18:00-19:00 - Dinner.
July 21, 22, 23, 24:
7:30-8:30 - Warm-Up.
8:30-9:00 - Breakfast.
09:30-12:00 - Practical training with Ostrenko brothers.
12:00-13:00 - Lunch.
14:00-18:00 - Practical training with Ostrenko brothers.
18:00-19:00 - Dinner.
19:30-21:00 - Creative diary: evening lectures, discussions and creation.
July 25:
7:30-8:30 - Warm-Up.
8:30-9:00 - Breakfast.
09:30-12:00 - Practical training with Ostrenko brothers.
12:00-13:00 - Lunch.
14:00-16:30 - Practical training with Ostrenko brothers.
18:00-19:00 - Dinner.
19:00 - IUGTE Conference opening and first meeting.
July 26, 27, 28:
Conference program: practical workshops, presentations, works-in-progress, lectures and discussions. The conference program will run a full day with breaks between presentations and breaks for meals. The registered participants will receive a detailed daily schedule.
July 29:
7:30-9:00 - Breakfast
9:00 - Check-out and departure.

VENUE
The accommodation for the participants can be organized at the guest house of the beautiful 13th century Laubegg Castle, situated in an idyllic setting south of Graz, in Styria region, "Green Heart" of Austria.
Everything is organized on the same territory: creative space and full board accommodation, so that participants can concentrate on creation and communication without any distractions of the routine necessities.
