Iren Johnson

Assistant Professor of Theatre and Dance

Iren Johnson is an Assistant Professor of Theatre and Dance with a passion for exploring the intersection of movement, performance, and culture. She holds a PhD in Performance Studies from New York University, where she focused on the use of physicality in contemporary dance and theater. Johnson taught courses on movement and performance at several universities in the United States and Europe. She has also performed professionally as a dancer and choreographer, both in the United States and Europe. Johnson's research and teaching interests include embodied practices, intercultural performance, and the politics of representation in the performing arts. She is committed to creating learning environments that foster creativity, critical thinking, and embodied engagement with the world around us.
